Big Boy Underwear

We woke up this morning to a crying 3 year old (wouldn't it be nice if just once Alex came into our room saying "Good morning?") who wanted to go downstairs, well seeing as it was Saturday Jason and I conned him into watching a cartoon in bed with us.

While trying to go to the bathroom, Alex didn't make it quite on time, but he did decide that he wanted to wear his "Big boy underwear" and throw away his pull-ups. I am down with this seeing as in 20 days (more like 19) we will be dealing with diapers all over again! So he and I made a sweep of "pull up drawer" and threw them all away (mental note, get those things out and hide them...they are pricey). Then Alex and I proceeded to argue about whether the Star Wars picture goes in the back (it does). So we compromised with Boxer Briefs with pics of lightening McQueen on the legs, I swear.

After a feast of French Toast the whole family loaded up in the car to take the dog to the vet. I bailed after about 20 minutes of sitting on a hard bench with little air conditioning to go and sit in the truck with the Max A/C blowing full force on me and the seat reclined.

Jason and Alex ventured to the store where Alex got more big boy underwear, some cars and an Iron Man t-shirt for being such a big boy. I took a nap. The big trip to the vet wore me out:-)

On to dinner of meatloaf and mashed potatoes with corn. Only 3 more weeks of getting to eat what I want so I am pulling out all the stops. Too bad there is no more room, and I could only enjoy one small serving.

If we can get Alex through his dinner, shower and bed without any more major meltdowns I will consider today a success (even though I do have some laundry to do after Alex's small accident post nap)
